Biogenesis | Session Nov. 2017

The emphasis on change, becoming, and process over static being. The artwork’s dynamic composition and sense of movement align with process philosophers like Heraclitus (“Everything flows”) and Alfred North Whitehead.

Title: Biogenesis

Description: The artwork is a digital composition that combines several distinct elements:

  • A central, blue, crystalline structure dominates the image. Its sharp angles and facets create a sense of dynamism and complexity. This element may be created using 3D modeling software or fractal generation techniques (Mandelbrot set, Julia set).
  • Soft, white, cloud-like forms provide a backdrop for the crystalline structure. These forms add a sense of depth and atmosphere to the image. They may be created using digital painting or image manipulation techniques (GIMP).
  • Geometric shapes and lines, such as the white rectangles and diagonal lines, provide a sense of structure and order. They contrast with the organic forms of the crystalline structure and the clouds. These elements may be created using vector graphics software (Inkscape).
  • Green, leaf-like shapes add a touch of nature and suggest growth and vitality. They may be stock photos or digital illustrations.
  • A black rectangle with white text and a logo is placed in the lower-left corner. This element adds a sense of mystery and intrigue. The text is too small to be legible, but it may provide additional context or meaning to the artwork.

The artwork is well-balanced and visually appealing. The use of contrasting colors, shapes, and textures creates a sense of depth and complexity. The overall impression is one of dynamism, growth, and emergence.
