The “Digital Chromatic Explosion” triptych is part of a trend in digital art that explores geometric and organic abstraction through the use of intense and contrasting colors. This trend draws on various historical influences, from Russian Constructivism and Kazimir Malevich’s Suprematism, with their emphasis on pure geometric forms and total abstraction, to Victor Vasarely’s Op Art, which plays with visual perception and optical illusions through repetitive patterns, and finally to the psychedelic art of the 60s and 70s with its explosion of color and abstract forms inspired by altered states of consciousness.
In the context of contemporary art, characterized by the hybridization of media and the expansion of the digital realm, these works engage with the new possibilities offered by digital technologies for artistic creation. The use of graphic design and 3D modeling software allows for the generation of complex forms and the precise manipulation of color, resulting in high-resolution images with great visual richness. This chromatic and formal explosion contrasts, to some extent, with the minimalist trend that also coexists in contemporary art, creating an interesting dialogue between exuberance and restraint. Furthermore, a connection can be observed with graffiti culture and urban art, which are also characterized by the use of vibrant colors and dynamic forms, albeit with a more street-oriented aesthetic.
Title: “Neon Synapse_Digital Chromatic Explosion”
Description: The triptych consists of three digital images likely generated with 3D design and/or vector illustration software. A predominance of pointed geometric shapes, such as triangles and diagonal lines, is observed, combined with more organic and fluid forms. The color palette is characterized by the use of saturated neon colors, such as fuchsia pink, lime green, turquoise blue, and bright yellow, which create strong contrasts and a sense of dynamism. The composition in each image is dynamic and tends to occupy all available space, generating a sense of expansion. A certain directionality in the forms is appreciated, guiding the viewer’s gaze through the image. In some areas, effects of transparency and superposition are observed, adding depth and complexity to the composition. The image resolution is high, which allows appreciating the details and sharpness of the forms. The presence of elements such as the checkerboard pattern in the third image introduces a contrasting texture that enriches the composition. The “drops” that appear in some areas add an organic element and a sense of fluid movement.
Software: Blender + Gimp + Darktable.
