Void Bursts | Session Dec. 2024

“In the geometric chaos of these compositions, a dance between order and disorder is hinted at. Abstract shapes and pointed lines evoke the din of creation, where rupture is both destruction and genesis. The blue and white spheres float like silent witnesses, representing dualities: the immutable versus the ephemeral dynamism of the universe. This visual dialogue seems to whisper that even in the most chaotic fragmentation, there is an underlying structure.”

Title: “Void Bursts”

Technical analysis:  This series of works, with a marked constructivist and futurist influence, is part of an aesthetic tradition where geometric abstraction dialogues with visual dynamism. The following characteristics stand out:

  1. Composition and structure: A convergence of dynamic graphic elements is observed, where diagonal lines and points create an implicit movement. The spheres contrast with the angularity of the vectors, generating a balance between organic and geometric shapes.
  1. Colour and contrast: The predominant tones are white, black and blue, creating a strong contrast that underlines spatial depth. This scheme refers to references such as Russian constructivism, where chromatic simplicity emphasised the function of forms.
  1. Textures and patterns: The use of dot and line patterns evokes the language of pop art and optical art (Op Art), suggesting effects of depth and vibration. In addition, the fragmented and torn textures refer to contemporary digital art, highlighting the aesthetics of glitch and generative design.
  2. Historical references:  The aggressiveness of the lines and their arrangement are reminiscent of the work of artists such as Kazimir Malevich and his Suprematism. The floating spheres can be interpreted as a nod to René Magritte’s surrealism, where seemingly simple objects take on a transcendental presence. The dynamism of the composition recalls the visual experiments of Italian Futurists such as Giacomo Balla and Umberto Boccioni, who celebrated movement and modernity.
