Inkexplicit | session September 2024

This set of liquid and vibrant forms evokes an experience of constant transformation, a dialogue between hardness and softness that reflects the dichotomy of existence itself. The flowing abstract curves recall the malleability of reality, where the boundaries between the material and the immaterial are blurred. In this visual universe, time seems to slow down, as if frozen in an instant of infinite expansion. The works invite us to reflect on the transitory nature of being, where the solid becomes ethereal, and the ethereal becomes solid, in a perpetual cycle of metamorphosis.

In the flow of liquid lines, we drown,
In waves of purple, red, and black,
Each curve a whisper, soft yet loud,
Each fold a memory, pulling back.

We drift in echoes of what was,
Between the smooth and jagged light,
Where solid forms dissolve to dust,
And darkness bends to fleeting white.

The pulse of space and time unwinds,
Unfolding all we know and feel,
A world in which all edges bind,
In fluid moments, sharp yet real.

Title: “Inkexplicit”
Technical analysis:The pieces combine elements of futurism and surrealism, with a clear reference to the biomorphic forms of Salvador Dalí, which are intertwined with the fluid aesthetics of Zaha Hadid’s architectural structures. The smooth, shiny surfaces, with a palette of saturated colours between purples, reds and blacks, evoke Yves Klein’s use of colour in his search for the emotional intensity of pure colour. The reflective and specular treatment of the surfaces could refer to the contemporary sculptures of Anish Kapoor, whose work explores the interaction between space, the viewer and light. The tense textures and geometric folds also refer to the spatial deconstruction that characterises the work of Frank Gehry, providing a dynamism that challenges the traditional stability of form.
