Digital Sublime | Session Feb. 2024

This series explores the tension between chaos and control, evoking the philosophy of the sublime as theorized by Edmund Burke and Immanuel Kant. The jagged, dynamic forms and vivid contrasts between fluidity and structure suggest an aesthetic confrontation with the vast, overwhelming complexity of the digital age. It interrogates the nature of creativity in an era where technology mediates human expression, probing the boundaries between organic spontaneity and synthetic design.

Title: “Fragments of the Digital Sublime”

Description: The works exhibit a mastery of 3D digital rendering techniques blended with abstract expressionism, drawing clear inspiration from the deconstructivist aesthetic seen in the works of Zaha Hadid and the chaotic vibrancy of Jackson Pollock. The metallic textures and sharp edges recall the futurist movement, while the interplay of neon pinks against monochromatic backgrounds nods to the cyberpunk visual tradition. Splatter-like textures reference street art, particularly echoing the raw energy of Jean-Michel Basquiat. The juxtaposition of clean lines with eruptive, chaotic splashes creates a dialogue between control and disorder, reminiscent of fractured modernism.
